Privacy Policy for JXL Converter: Photo Compress

Effective and last updated: October 16, 2026

Neo Applications develops JXL Converter: Photo Compress (Android package com.neoapps.jxlconverter). This policy explains how the app handles information. For privacy questions or deletion requests, contact nippydeveloper@gmail.com.

Photos and information processed on your device

The app reads the photos you select to decode, convert, preview and export them on your device. This can include image content, filenames, file locations and embedded photo details. We do not upload these to an image-processing server or include them in app diagnostics.

Private working files may include imported copies, previews, conversion outputs and job state used to complete or recover a conversion. Preferences such as quality, metadata choices, output destination, language and diagnostics choices are stored locally.

Photo details and original removal

Photo details are written according to your preservation settings. Capture dates are initially selected; GPS preservation is initially off. GPS preservation concerns location already embedded in a selected photo, not tracking your current location. Removing photo details retains color information needed to display the image. Details already removed by Android or the source provider cannot be recovered.

Original removal is optional and initially off. It requires confirmation and a verified saved copy. Some providers allow reading but do not permit deletion. Saving and deletion outcomes are reported separately.

Advertising and consent

The app supports Google AdMob advertising and Google’s consent tools. Where advertising is enabled, Google may process device or advertising identifiers, IP address and approximate location, ad interactions and diagnostics to deliver and measure ads and prevent fraud. Ad availability depends on the app version and consent status.

Consent messages and privacy choices are presented where required. You can reopen Privacy options in Settings when available. The optional diagnostics switch described below controls app diagnostics separately from advertising. See Google’s Privacy Policy.

Optional usage diagnostics

Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Performance Monitoring collection are disabled by default and enabled only when you turn on Share usage diagnostics in Settings. You can turn this option off again to disable further collection through these services.

When enabled, diagnostics include screen and feature interactions, format and image counts, quality and metadata-preservation choices, conversion outcomes and error codes, timings, size ranges, language choices, and ad delivery events. Firebase may also process app-instance or installation identifiers and device, app-version, crash and performance information to help us understand usage and improve reliability.

Photo contents, filenames, source URIs, file locations and actual GPS or EXIF values are excluded from app diagnostics. Native codec (NDK) crash reporting is not enabled. See Firebase privacy and security information.

Permissions, destinations and sharing

The app uses Android’s photo and file pickers to access user-selected files instead of requesting broad photo-library access. Internet access supports online services such as advertising and optional diagnostics. The advertising-ID permission supports advertising when enabled. Android system backup is disabled for app-local data.

Cloud document providers may download a selected image or upload an exported file. When you choose a destination or share an output, that provider or recipient handles the file under its own policies. Preserved photo details can travel with exported files, so review your metadata choices before sharing.

Retention and deletion

Saved files remain under your control and that of your chosen destination provider until you delete them. Use the app’s working-file cleanup to remove private imported copies and previews. Clear app storage through Android settings or uninstall the app to remove app-local data and preferences. Exported documents are not removed by working-file cleanup or uninstalling; delete those through the destination provider.

Turning diagnostics off does not automatically erase information already sent. Google retains advertising and diagnostic information according to its service policies and applicable retention settings. To request deletion of data we can identify, email us. We will review what can be located and removed through the relevant service; aggregated records or information a provider must retain may remain. Do not send photos or sensitive metadata unless necessary for your request.

Support, accounts and purchases

If you email support, we receive your email address and the information you choose to provide, and use it to respond and resolve your request. This version has no app accounts, purchases or subscriptions.

Data protection and service providers

Local files rely on Android’s app-storage protections. Google services may process advertising and diagnostic information on servers outside your country under their published terms and privacy practices. Protect your device and exported files; no storage or transmission method guarantees absolute security.

Children’s privacy

The app is not intended to collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a service used by the app, contact us so we can review and address the concern.

Changes and contact

We will update this policy and its date when the app’s data practices change. Contact Neo Applications at nippydeveloper@gmail.com for privacy questions or requests.
