Privacy Policy for Open Image Converter

Last updated: September 18, 2026

1. INTRODUCTION

Open Image Converter ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use our Android application.

2. IMAGE FILES AND INFORMATION COLLECTION

Open Image Converter processes selected images on your device. The conversion pipeline does not upload selected or converted image files to our servers. Custom telemetry does not include image bytes, thumbnails, file names, file paths, raw handled error messages, or unique file identifiers.

The app may receive aggregate app activity, format counts, output-format choices, conversion results, performance measurements, crash reports, and ad-related or device information through Google services. These services help us understand reliability, improve the app, measure advertising, and display ads.

3. ON-DEVICE CONVERSION

Image detection, decoding, conversion, resizing, preview generation, and export preparation run on your Android device. The app supports output formats including JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, TIFF, TGA, ICO, CUR, and PVR. Input support includes HEIC/HEIF, JPG/JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, TIFF, TGA, ICO, PVR, PSD, EXR, and PNM when supported by the device and decoder.

Animated GIF or WebP images and multi-page TIFF files are converted as the first frame or page in this release. HEIC/HEIF decoding depends on device capabilities, and very large inputs may be rejected to protect device stability.

4. PERMISSIONS AND DEVICE ACCESS

The app is designed to use Android’s system pickers and scoped media/document access rather than broad legacy storage permissions.

5. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The app uses Firebase Analytics for aggregate usage events, Firebase Crashlytics for crash and handled-error reporting, and Firebase Performance Monitoring for performance measurements. It also uses Google Mobile Ads to display advertising. These services may process information according to their own privacy policies. The app contains ads.

6. METADATA, LOCAL FILES, AND DELETION

You can choose to remove personal image metadata during export. Original images are kept unchanged. The app may create private working copies, thumbnails, and temporary conversion files on your device to support interruption recovery, previews, retries, and export. Resetting the app removes managed temporary files and private working copies, but does not remove original media or exported copies that you have saved.

You can delete exported images from your Gallery or file manager, clear the app’s local storage, or uninstall the app. Images sent to another app through Android sharing are then handled according to the receiving app’s policies.

7. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

Open Image Converter is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this policy occasionally. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised last-updated date.
